What information do we collect?

We collect two kinds of information from visitors to the Fusionic.net and Fusionic.co.uk websites:

1) Customer enquiries, support requests and survey results (via online forms)

2) Site usage information, using cookies, log files and page tagging techniques including JavaScript. We may use the services of partner organizations to collect some of this site usage data. Currently those organizations are:

Click Density - A Service run by Box UK. Click Density provides us with usability information to help us improve the navigability of our website. It does not collect any data which can be used to personally identify you according to their privacy policy which you can read here...

Infinity Box Inc. - Provide a forms handling service for us. As part of this service, data submitted through Fusionic.net using on-line forms to our Wufoo account held on Servers in The US and Canada. Their privacy statement is visible here.. Fusionic uses this service to collect the minimum amount of personal detail that we consider necessary for the purpose. For example, we do not require postal addresses or phone numbers from site visitors who wish to communicate with us via email. We regularly remove old data from this account.

Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including the public IP address of the location you are accessing the Internet from) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States . Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Site usage information: Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are often created when you visit a website, and which are stored in the cookie directory of your computer. A cookie is created when you visit Fusionic.net. Fusionic.net uses both permanent cookies and session cookies. The permanent cookie stores a random number on your computer to help us count the number of times users return to our site. The session cookie lets us know which pages within our site you visit. Permanent cookies do not expire when you leave this site and may be used on subsequent visits to the site. Session cookies expire when you leave Fusionic.net or switch off your computer.

The cookie (whether permanent or session) does not contain any personal information about you, and it cannot be used to identify an individual user.

Site usage information: Log files

Log files record visitors' use of the site. We can collect information about site usage from the data contained in these logs using software tools which we obtain from third parties. Log files do not contain any personal information and they are not used to identify any individual patterns of use of the site.

Site usage information: Page tagging

We sometimes use JavaScript to aggregate and analyse customer usage patterns on all websites that are part of the Fusionic domain. This provides us with data on your usability and behaviour. We use this information to make changes to the layout of the website and to the information in it. This does not collect any personal or identifiable information about users.

We sometimes tag pages on this website during promotion campaigns using pixel tags (which are sometimes called spotlight tags or web beacons). These tags enable us to find out which advertisements are successful in bringing users to our internet site(s). With this technology, the information that we collect and share is anonymous and not personally identifiable.

You can disable JavaScript on your computer. If you would like advice on how to disable JavaScript please contact us, giving details about the type of browser you use and we will do our best to help. Disabling JavaScript should not affect your ability to access Fusionic’s internet site.

What happens when I link to another site?

We do not pass on any personal information you have given us to any other site.

Fusionic contains links to other websites. This privacy policy applies only to our site, so you should always be aware when you are moving to another site and read the privacy statement of any other site(s) which collect personal information about you.

Internet Privacy in General

If you are concerned about the data that you exchange with this and other websites, and your privacy in general, there are many ways to increase your on-line privacy. The following tips and tools may be worthy of your further research and consideration. Fusionic would be pleased to offer you advise on any of them, feel free to contact us.

The security setting of your browser can be modified to prevent cookies and scripts from running on site that you have not expicitly chosen to trust.

Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 have versions which exclude all plugins (Failsafe Browsers). A plugin is available for Mozilla Firefox called NoScript. This allows you to choose on a site by site basis whether you want to allow Java and other scripts to run.

Commercial tools are available to thoroughly remove browsing history and other data from your computer that could be used by rogue sites to gather information about you without your consent. You can use the inbuilt features of most browsers to do some of this too.

You can mask your real IP address by browsing through a proxy server. Several secure commercial proxies and many free proxies exist (all your browsing data will travel through these proxies and could be stored or analysed by them so make sure you choose one carefully and use it selectively). Your ISP may provide this service.

Tor is a technology that sends traffic via 'Onion Routers' which removes much of the header detail from the data packets and reduces the likelihood of your real IP address being read by the destination that you are visiting. Different methods of configuring Tor exist for Linux and Windows.
